We are located in North Central Florida, which is probably one of the worst areas to raise goats due to the tropical nature of our weather. When we decided to establish our breeding program, we did over a year of research and asked a lot of questions about breeds, health, problems etc.. Obviously, we made a decision or Chevon Farms would not be producing Kikos. We can tell you all the hype you read about them is true as long as you buy from a reputable breeder.
We have two goals at Chevon Farms. Our first goal is to produce goats that meet the standards for Kikos. By producing the best goats possible we are able to assist other meat goat producers by providing a high quality low maintenance goat. Our second goal is to educate other producers who are establishing their herds. We welcome questions from anyone about producing goats even if they aren’t interested in Kikos. It is our belief that by providing accurate information we are helping the goat industry grow. Our farm is a member of the Florida A&M University Certified Master Goat Producers Program and we are members of the International Kiko Goat Association as well as the American Kiko Goat Association. Because of time and land limitations, we keep our herd small which allows us to spend time “hands-on” with our herd.
